The Scientific Communication business unit is dedicated to the development of solutions aimed at facilitating access to scientific knowledge for researchers and citizens, but also to the delivery of technological solutions that facilitate the management of this activity by research institutions.
Scientific communication fulfills a primary function: to democratize access to scientific knowledge and establish conditions for the so-called scientific literacy.
Since our genesis, we have been involved in the development and implementation of systems for the management of scientific communication processes.
We were development partners of RCAAP (Open Access Scientific Repositories of Portugal) and in a vast number of other initiatives.
With a deep knowledge of the existing interrelationships between institutions in the national scientific system, we provide solutions that enhance interoperability and safeguard scientific knowledge.
Retrievo is a software capable of collecting and providing access to heterogeneous information assets from various different sources of information existing in an organisation. For example, Retrievo can be used to simultaneously search a library catalogue, a document management system and the institution’s website through a unique and uniform search interface.
Retrievo is not intended to replace existing information systems, but rather to provide a unique and privileged access point to information that is stored in different silos within an organisation.
After discovering information in Retrievo, the user will be redirected to the system that contains the original information in order to view it in context and in a complete way.
