KEEP SOLUTIONS is an academic spin-off of the University of Minho that offers a wide range of products and services to support the creation and maintenance of digital archives, museums and digital libraries. Its services and products consist of information technology consulting, digital preservation consulting, information analysis, data transformation and migration, information systems analysis and design, digital repositories maintenance and support (e.g. DSpace, EPrints, Fedora Commons, RODA, DigitArq), and electronic publication solutions design.

The close connection of KEEP SOLUTIONS to the University of Minho enables a direct contact with the most recent lines of research. As a spin-off of the University of Minho the adaptation of research developed in academia to the market needs forms part of its mission.

Being born from an R&D platform, KEEP SOLUTIONS remains active in the production of scientific knowledge. It has a considerable number of publications and it is often represented at scientific events.

KEEP offers a wide variety of solutions for digital archiving, digital preservation, and document workflow.
Some solutions already installed and in production in several institutions are:

* DigitArq - Archival management software;
* Safe Office - Remote storage solution with interesting characteristics such as automatic metadata extraction, content indexing (for PDF files), search engine (metadata and content), hardware independent;
* Digital repositories - Installation and management of DSpace based repositories
* Service provider engines - Development of search services based on metadata aggregation;
* Migration services and systems integration;

KEEP SOLUTIONS started in 2008 but its promoters have been publishing in the area of digital preservation for the past 6 years. The company currently has 10 employees and several national-wide clients, including the Directorate-General of Portuguese Archives and the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology.
